Mackie d8b 5.1 / M-Audio Firewire 1814 - Low Gain ADAT??

Postby signaltonoise » Wed Oct 16, 2013 5:40 pm

Hello all,

Wanted to get some advice on an issue I am experiencing. I am using a Mackie d8b 5.1 into a M-Audio Firewire 1814 and am having an issue of low gain with channels using ADAT cards.

I have an AIO-8 Analog card in slot 1-8 going into Line 1-8 on the 1814, OPT-8 on 9-16 going into ADAT IN on the 1814.

AIO-8 channels are fine. OPT8 channels are significantly lower, about -20 or more.

Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

Flip your two cards around and see if the low level follows. That is where I would start. Also make sure your levels to tape (Selection button just under the stereo master meters) are all where they are supposed to be.

Check your M-Audio driver's Control Panel software (in your DAW) to see if there is a level mismatch.
