New HD but can't read floppies?

Postby StudioQ » Wed Oct 23, 2013 12:08 am

My HD failed (yet again). I have installed a WD 80g dumbed down to 32g and the software all reinstalled OS 3 build 224 and the 3 service pack discs, but I the MFX is not coming up. I tried opening a few saved mixes from floppies but nothing is happening. Have I overlooked a step or missing something obvious (always possible)
Many Thanks,

Peter

but I the MFX is not coming up.

When you boot, does the MFX card slot (or MFX cards slots....you don't state how many you have) show up empty?
If this is the case, shut it down and take the cards out and clean the contacts with a common pencil eraser. Then dry clean off any excess eraser debris. Do not use a liquid contact cleaner.

Then, vigorously insert/remove the cards about 10 times to exercise the interior connectors. Finally, with the cards reseated, reboot and see what happens. MFX cards do not require authorization so it should not be a software issue.
