HDD Cloning Procedure Writeup Available for Review

Postby bitSync » Sat Mar 22, 2014 11:08 pm

I've taken a crack at writing up the procedure I used to clone the Mackie d8b HDD to backup media, both HDD and CF, using the Macrium Reflect software. I've put the document out on a file sharing site here -

<File Deleted - Newer Version Later in Thread> http://www.d8bforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1151&p=8955#p8955

Let me know if you think this is something useful for the database. Please also let me know if you see any errors requiring correction. Thanks.

Thank you. Nice document.

I will upload it to the database. Where do you think this better placed in Tips, Maintenance or CPU.

Thanks, Peter. Perhaps Tips? I'm not sure, it's your call. Let's allow the doc to percolate for a few days? We may get some constructive feedback and I already see a couple minor tweaks I'd like to make. Best regards.

Included in the database. Section: Tips.

Let me know if there is some change and I will upload the latest version then.

Thanks for documenting this procedure. I'm sure I will do it myself once I get the studio back up.

I've got some minor edits I want to make so I'll correct that with the update.

The revised edition of the disc cloning procedure has been uploaded to a file sharing site here -

http://snk.to/f-cd19qk9t

I don't anticipate making any more changes so this version can replace the one that's in the database. Thanks.

Is it possible to get an image of what is on the Mackie Harddrive?

I have a d8b, but there was a power failure:
the power supply for the mainboard is broken and the mainboard too.
The harddrive seems to work when I plug it into my normal PC.
I tried it with a different (old) mainboard but it doesn't work.
Maybe the files on the harddrive are wrong.
I would love to overwrite it with an image that for sure works.

Help is appreciated!
