D8B vers5 demo

Postby p2h » Sun Aug 24, 2014 2:25 am

Hello, I downloaded the vers 5 demo but image 2 will not save to mac floppy because there's not enough room?
The floppy is a 1.44 HD PC format, I'm using a mac to make the floppies. What am I doing wrong? Image 1 and 3 loaded fine. Thanks!

Hi p2h;

I do not know why you are having difficulties but I can save you some time and a lot of frustration.

You will not be able to get version 5.0 or 5.1 to run unless you have the Authorisation Code. The computer, at Mackie, that generates these codes crashed a while back and they (Mackie) are not going to fix it.

You will have to be satisfied with Version 3 as the last working software.

There are a couple for other threads in the d8b forum about this if you want some extra reading about this.

Others will be able to help you with your loading problem if you have the Authorisation Code. I'm not that knowledgeable in that area, yet.

Regards
Bruce

If you have a USB floppy drive, you need a program called Shrinkwrap to extract the disks properly. You can still find limited use versions out there. Otherwise, me don't know.
