Has anyone tried to sync a multitrack tape to the D8B or HDR24 ? im sure this must have been tried.
im trying to sync my tascam msr24 tape recorder to my mackie hdr24 so i can control the tape via the mackie,
i can stripe track 24 to control a drum machine so it works that way,
now i know the striped track has no control over the tascam its self, so would i need a tascam midiizer mts1000 or is there another way to do this ??

i know it would take a bit of time during editing for the tape to catch up but i dont mind that.

You've answered you're own question. It's about the only solution. The mts1000 is an awesome piece of kit.

Do you also use a DAW in your setup? If yes, then depending on what DAW you use (meaning: can it read SMPTE and spit out MTC simultaneously), it might be possible to avoid the cost of the MTS 1000.
