HD partitioning

Postby Phil.c » Tue Oct 07, 2014 2:05 pm

Hi All,

Some time ago someone on this forum Captain somebody or other gave me a link to new HD's that he said he had bought and it was possible to jump them down, he said he had done it with no problems. Me, being trust worthy of forum members bought three for £70. Turns out after contacting Western Digital that they cannot be jumped down to 32gb, when I contacted Captain... he had quit the forum!

Anyway, I had this info from someone on another "music" forum, will it work?

Phil

"Just leave the jumpers at full size. Check if your present HD is FAT32 or NTFS, in Properties. Run the EaseUS Partition Master program and delete the existing partitions, then create a new partition, (Fat32 or NTFS) that is 32gb in size on it.
Your HDR will then be fooled into thinking it is just a 32gb HD.

Be sure it is the correct drive before you delete the partition. The C: drive is your windows drive.

You have 3 units? Why not follow those instructions on one of 'em and see if it works for you? What have you got to lose?
