I recently had a noise problem, not exactly as you describe, but similar. Everything pointed to the HDR as the problem. Every time I got to a place in the project where more than 5 tracks were playing at once, they would all distort and become intermittent. You could solo any track and all was fine. I opened a different project and all was fine. Corrupt file right?
WRONG. Just out of desperation & hoping my song was not lost, I went to the desktop on the D8B, drug the startup file into the recycle bin & rebooted the D8B. After that, all was well. Don't know if this relates to your problem, but I hope it helps.
