That almost sounds like some sort of power sag. Can you check the voltages coming out of the power supply? I have never heard of this fault before. Is your big ass connector seated and tight?

thanks Crash

I will check to make sure the big ass connector is seated
I have nothing to check the voltage with. if it is a voltage problem
can it be fixed and if you don't mind me asking what will I
need to check the voltage and where would I check the voltage at
never had this problem before. if I am just listing to a CD on the d8b its fine
but when I start mixing and adding plug ins or the automation it will run
for a few minutes then all the light will go out but everything will still
be playing until I turn it off from the main switch. nothing shows up on the board
when the lights go out.

thanks for any help crash I am lost as always

I am just spitballin' Joe. This is an odd issue and I am not sure how much help anyone can be over the net.... To check the voltages, you would need a multi-meter and the schematic that shows what pins have what voltages on the big ass connector. If all was good there, I would go upstream to the power distribution board inside the console and start looking at voltages there. That is where I would start but I am at a loss as to what could cause this odd behavior.

So everything goes dark? Meters as well as button LEDs? Any one close have a power supply that you could use to test.

yes everything goes dark even the Leds and meters and it keeps on playing
what ever on at the time. I don't know anyone close to me that has a power supply
that I could use. can I buy one and from where are they high cost. just when I thought everything
was going good this happing.

You may want to get in touch with the S and X guys. This may be beyond trying to figure out over the net. Not sure of their current address as they have moved a time or two. Try this number and see if that reaches them.

thanks Crash or anyone

I check the big ass connector. what I don't understand is that I can turn on just
the d8b and it will stay one for over half hour without the lights going out. but just
as soon as I turn on the HDR and I hit play on the d8b it will run for maybe 45 seconds then
the light go out on everything but the solo light and the fat channel light stays on
I can still control everything from the monitor but the channels will not move on the d8b.
and sometimes when I reboot the d8b after the lights go out when it boots up it will have the channels
meters lit up on all the channels and freeze there. could my memory card be bad and do I need to have
256 of memory.

I am trying to do everything I can to keep from sending the d8b to SX pro audio
because its going to cost me over $450 dollars just to ship the d8b and if I have
to ship the CPU it will cost a lot more. so anything anyone can think of I will try
and like Crash said its hard to solve this problem on the inter net. just hoping
I can do something to save money. thanks again for any kind of help

So, It's not just automation and a plugin causing the issue; it also happens when you start to play back via your HDR. How are you syncing the d8b with the HDR? If you have the apogee card try pulling it and putting the stock card in and sync via adat to see if that changes anything. Like Crash, I'm just spitballin' here, but it couldn't hurt to try.

thanks Casey

I have been running the apogee card the hole time
but like I said I will try anything. so tomorrow I will change the cards
to see if there is any change. I also checked today to see how long it would stay on
without the lights going off. so I booted it up and I put the final mix on it and I put three
more plug-ins and just let it sit there for 35 to 40 minutes without turning anything else on
and it stayed on without the light going off. then I started everything else up hit play
on the d8b to play a song from the HDR it ran for about 30 seconds then all the light went out
but the solo and the fat channel light. now it seems like its just doing this when I start the
I wonder if I could just call SX audio and see if they could help me with this as in give me a few things
to try before I would have to send it in. I ask this because some people don't like helping people
unless they can make money I understand that to but it goes back to me trying to save money

thanks for any help with this
