Hi Bruce

I hope you get a good response from Mackie. As I have said on here, Mackie don't have to support a product that has been out of production for over 12 years, but if enough of us on this forum make alot of noise they will have to sit up and listen. I think the D8B is a great desk (very underrated). Also man you must tell me more about your 3 D8B's have you got a photo? It sounds like one mad set up :)

Hey Lyn69;

An email, an unlock code and 5.1 is up and working. Thanks!

I did email them about a year ago and they would not or could not supply me with a code! I'm so very happy!

My set up doesn't use all 3 d8b's. I have 1 in my Living Room (I have the best wife) with an HDR and a bunch of "toys".

I have another at a hall I do some work in. I use it as a FOH (PA) desk, No recording.

The 3rd is for spare parts but I have never had to use it.

I wish Mackie would do further work on the d8b but the man who designed most of it passed away a while back so I doubt they will touch it. They have had several digital desks since then. I have never touched any of them so I have no idea if they where an improvement on the d8b. I doubt it. The d8b, for what it cost, is great.

Cheers and thanks again.

Nice one Bruce! Glad your up and running again. I know it is frustrating dealing with Mackie, but you got a positive result. That's what forums like this are for. Now everyone should get their codes and write it on the back, or underside of the desk (which I have done) and it will go wherever the desk goes :) Happy days.
