I read on the information site about using electronics grade alcohol to clean the control room pots (encoder)

What about the channel input gain pots?

In the past I've used deoxit green with other boards.

What are the long time d8b owners thoughts on cleaning and what to use for maintaining the faders? I assume the faders are more encoders then passing analog audio right?

I assume you've read the post in the database and the routines for stopping the rotary encoders being jumpy so I won't bore you with that other than to say I dont recommend Deoxit for that application. it has a mild oil base in it which can make matters worse over time. 99.9% isopropyl alcohol is the go.

Are you having trouble with the faders? If not, I'd leave them alone. They are track based BTW.

I read the post on the encoders.

I was not sure if the gain pots and isopropyl alcohol was the best method.

Faders don't wake any noise when moved. Ch 1 and 5 stick a little bit. But more I use the board the more they are behaving.

Oh well. You did ask for those who knew. The sticking faders is to do with the motor and the belt. There's a post on that as well. Best of luck.

Now I mentioned fader. I have one that is not smooth, feels like.. almost a pulsing feeling when you move it. Even when the power is off. I will read up on that thread.
