Pin 1 to pin ?( on the other end)
pin 2 to pin ?
pin 3 to pin ?

im assuming the outs are wired to the ins on the other end but what about the 10, 12, 22, 24, 25 pins ?
Does anyone have this info ?
cheers

Hey Funk;

I found it easier to purchase pre made cables (didn't have to be concerned about 110 Ohm Cable) but here is how I believe it works.

Console end (Out) Ch 1 (5/18), wired to Recorder end (In) Ch 1 (1/14)

Recorder end (Out) Ch 1 (5/18), wired to Console end (In) Ch 1 (1/14)

Use the P/O dia for Grounds.

Hope that makes sense

Thanks
Bruce
PS. haven't had time to try the FPT thing you sent, but I will. Thanks

I'm pretty sure the correct wiring is in the manual. 110 Ω cable is pretty important.

Cheers Bruce and pete,
i already have some very good quality Cables i paid alot of money for that i am not using, but they are wired for Tascam
which is a different pin out.
so all i hve to do is re solder 1 end and as my soldering skills are very good ( electronics was my job) i thought i would do them myself.

The pin out is in the manual but only one side,
Technical reference HDR24 page 212, it does not say how it connects on the other side.
i know the outs go to the ins
but not sure about the rest of the pins for grounds ?
are they specific to each pair of ins and outs ( so the pins might change on the other end) or does it not matter ?
so they just stay the same ?
so......

D25 1 ( as the manual) ( +=hot, - = cold)
1 + 1/2 in
2 + 3/4 in
3 + 5/6 in
4 + 7/8 in
5 + 1/2 out
6 + 3/4 out
7 + 5/6 out
8 + 7/8 out
9 Nc ( not connected)
10 Ground
11 Nc
12 ground
13 Nc
14 - 1/2 in
15 - 3/4 in
16 - 5/6 in
17 - 7/8 in
18 - 1/2 out
19 - 3/4 out
20 - 5/6 out
21 - 7/8 out
22 ground
23 Nc
24 ground
25 ground

D25 ( other end)
1 + 1/2 out
2 + 3/4 out
3 + 5/6 out
4 + 7/8 out
5 + 1/2 in
6 + 3/4 in
7 + 5/6 in
8 + 7/8 in
9 Nc ( not connected)
10 Ground----------------------------same as D25 1 ?
11 Nc
12 ground----------------------------same as D25 1 ?
13 Nc
14 - 1/2 out
15 - 3/4 out
16 - 5/6 out
17 - 7/8 out
18 - 1/2 in
19 - 3/4 in
20 - 5/6 in
21 - 7/8 in
22 ground ----------------------------same as D25 1 ?
23 Nc
24 ground ----------------------------same as D25 1 ?
25 ground ----------------------------same as D25 1 ?

so its just pins 10, 12, 22, 24, 25, i am thinking about

All ok just tried it and seems to work fine, so pins 10, 12, 22, 24, 25, dont cross over they are straight through.
so this is right.

D25 1 ( as the manual) ( +=hot, - = cold)
1 + 1/2 in
2 + 3/4 in
3 + 5/6 in
4 + 7/8 in
5 + 1/2 out
6 + 3/4 out
7 + 5/6 out
8 + 7/8 out
9 Nc ( not connected)
10 Ground
11 Nc
12 ground
13 Nc
14 - 1/2 in
15 - 3/4 in
16 - 5/6 in
17 - 7/8 in
18 - 1/2 out
19 - 3/4 out
20 - 5/6 out
21 - 7/8 out
22 ground
23 Nc
24 ground
25 ground

D25 2( other end)
1 + 1/2 out
2 + 3/4 out
3 + 5/6 out
4 + 7/8 out
5 + 1/2 in
6 + 3/4 in
7 + 5/6 in
8 + 7/8 in
9 Nc ( not connected)
10 Ground----------------------------same as D25 1
11 Nc
12 ground----------------------------same as D25 1
13 Nc
14 - 1/2 out
15 - 3/4 out
16 - 5/6 out
17 - 7/8 out
18 - 1/2 in
19 - 3/4 in
20 - 5/6 in
21 - 7/8 in
22 ground ----------------------------same as D25 1
23 Nc
24 ground ----------------------------same as D25 1
25 ground ----------------------------same as D25 1

Cheers Bruce and pete.
