:-D Now I get no Input Signal in my Daw via Adat Outs of the d8b, only if I connect the Apogee I/O Card's ADAT.
But I'm also wondering why the 3 ADAT I/O cards are not showing up in the Input and output section like shown in the manual. It is empty in my case(see screenshot). But in ALT-1-8 is showing ADAT.

. And there is no Apogee Wordclock Card in it, so where can I setup that the desk uses the first ADAT Channel from the Raydat for syncing? (Thats what I read a lot and was the reason to buy a raydat).
Any ideas?

When you boot up do the cards show on the d8b LCD screen?

Yes they do... They are not showing up in the setup like in the manual, but in the meanwhile I got the signal in the daw. Had to route it to tape in the fatchannel. I'm learning... :-)

Now the next thing. I have only one FX card. But there are no plugins. Are they included in the service pack?

Angelinc:

This has been a fun read. OK...now on to v5.1. Trust me, this is a huge improvement over v3. May I ask: what DAW are you using? Just curious about that.

I think Logic Pro Frank, the same as me, only probably an up to date version as I'm using Logic 7!

The problem with me is that my Macpro runs on OS 10.4 and the later One run on higher, My Mac cannot be upgraded higher than this according to Apple info, so it's a "Buy a new one" situation and to be honest, I only use Logic to play VST instruments, which are mixed on my d8b.

Hi Frank, Phil was right, I'm using Logic X. It runs on an old Mac Pro 3,1. which is upgraded now with an SSD and some additional 16 GB Ram running on El Capitan. This week I have to care about new PA System, new Mics and some other new toys for the band's studio. After that I will focus the Update to 5.1. I'll keep you posted :-)

What a funny thing! :D  Even if it's really sad because the desk stopped working in the middle of a production. :|
I was just googling about a BOOT FAIL problem with the d8b and landed here in my own post from almost 3 years ago.
So ...

Hey guys. I'm back

The problem now:
I switched on the desk: it shows the System Error 43 message and on the pc screen I got: Wrong CMOS settings...
I was thinking: ok go to bios and try to set it on default values.

Since then I'm getting BOOT FAIL. Boot sector cannot not found.

So I went home to search the net, because I had no clue what to do anymore...

Now I'm finding my old thread, where it was myself who wrote, that the LBA setting saved my life...
Will drive back to studio now to check this out first. I hope the data is not lost....

Shame on me I didn't back up the system.
3 years later...
...still learning ;-)

All the best
Marco
