There is someone on here that is running an X48 with the d8b who might offer how they do it, can't remember who it was. I just refurbed an X48 that I will run with the d8b at some point. The interesting thing about the X48 is that there is a mixer built into the box and depending on the cards installed you could do some cool submixing in the box to keep your connections between the mixer and the the X48 lower. If you really want to run 48 tracks on the between the two, I am guessing you would need whatever you have installed in the d8b, be it Opt, TDIF or analog for the tape ins on the desk and analog to get the the other 24 tracks to hit the line inputs on the mic/line side of the desk. I did this running two HDRs into one desk for one mix I did years ago.
