Audio flip flopping between channels

Postby IronBone » Sun May 21, 2017 6:42 pm

During tracking, the audio flip flops between channels within it's pair.....i.e., channel 1 audio on channel 2, channel 4 audio on channel 3, and vice versa.... it also happens on the tape rerurns page as well, ch. 25-48. This doesn't happen immediately but within a few minutes of working... once it happens, i open the settings for the RME soundcard and I notice the adat 1, 2 and 3 keeps switching between synced, locked, and unlocked.....any ideas or help is appreciated...

Maybe clock related problem?
Check up on the whole clock sync setup.

In the scheme of things, there isn't one... just chaos.

I had already suspected the brainboard ribbon cable and investigated/adjusted it.... I wasn't sure if it was a WC issue considering the WC stays locked with the interface even while the other adat ports fall out of sync. But I suppose that it's not always as black and white... I have been a sceptic of the BFC for some time seeing as how even when you tighten it up and it clicks (locks) into place, the connection still seems fairly loose... although I did just try and put some Teflon around the threads of the connector board side, and it has significantly improved the tightness of the connection.. I will report back if it was just this simple of a fix.
