Hello All... new to this forum
Tried searching for information already posted... no luck yet.

...just purchased a D8b
on first attempt to start heard a drive motor whirring loudly
after a time... the board screen showed System Error 43 host did not load
don't want to demonstrate my lack of knowledge...
Help?

Thank You
Roy

seems to be a common problem of board battery... I'll try that first
Thank You

Yuppers... CMOS battery (type CR2032) and make sure your BIOS is set correctly before you embark on anything...

Post here if/when you run into any subsequent issues...

Hello doktor...
so sorry for greatly delayed response... replaced battery connected vga, no mouse yet...
seems possible this is a parts unit.
replaced old battery, rest bios, etc as per published parameters

board continues to display system error 43 and vga displays "dsp card not loaded"...
Best Regards
Roy

Just to be certain:

Is the Console Data cable (the DB25 cable that looks like an old "parallel port printer cable") connected between the rack unit and the console, in addition to the BFC connector?

If not, that'll give you that error.

But it's good to see that the rack unit boots up to the point of "DSP card not ready"... could still be a hardware problem, but that's as far as the rack units boot, if they don't find the console properly connected... so the rack unit "might" be ready to use, otherwise.

Best of luck!

I might be totally wrong as I’m going back a long time, but I seem to remember booting up once without a mouse connected and I got an error message?
