Another MFX card down.

Postby funk » Wed Dec 28, 2022 7:56 pm

does anyone know what part of the mfx card goes as i find myself with yet another expensive floor adhesive spreader,
the card shows up in the plugins and i can open it, butdoes not show any inputs on the mfx plugin meters or the fx bank returns, ( my last one that went wrong showed input on the plugin meters just no output !) iv tried this one on two D8Bs and its the same, also to when you activate the MFX card you get the green light flashing on the card when its ready, but no green light on this one when activated, see pic its the bottom one
any ideas anyone ?

I realsie that it is probably a stuipd question (as you have tried it in another desk), BUT have you swapped it and placed it in one of the other slots and placed the swapped one in the faulty card's slot to see what happens ?

Funk,

Not having looked at the MFX card/s that I have for many years the following might not apply, but it could be worth a shot.

On the 7th September Y-my-R placed a forum topic regarding capacitors on his Clock Card/s having bad solder joints (you might like to read the posting).

Could it possibly be that your MFX card has the same/similar problem with one or more of the components having a dry solder joint or something?

You might need a good magnifying glass to have a really close look !!!!!

Hope this gives you something to work on.

Have a great 2023 and if broadcast in your part of the world, enjoy the Sydney fireworks, which this year are apparently going to be more spectacular than ever --- over 9 tons of fireworks.
