It's connected with a USB and I get eight tracks.

OK Phil, now I'm confused. We have been discussing a MOTU 2408 mk3....correct? USB? There is no USB port on a 2408. At least none I've ever seen.

Are you using a some sort of translator in between the 2408 and the Mac?

Thanks for the reply's guys, always good to have a few different ideas.

This is more than enough info for me to swallow over the next week or so. I will have a play about, have a think and keep you posted on what i decide to do. I might need a bit more help soon so keep a little eye on this thread for me.

Much appreciate your input, cheers,

Hi frank,

I have come across a traveller mk2 (i believe) on ebay here in Wales UK. Would this be adequate? Would this be all i need to carry out what i mentioned above? Would i still need a midisport 2x2 etc.

The mk2's here fetch no more than £200 while the mk3's are around £550. I am on a bit of a budget so if the mk2 is cool i'll go with that.

Need to rap this up quick before my brain fries. (doesn't take a lot lol)

Thanks for your help guys

But... audiowire requires the PCI card. I don't understand.

I have 2 Travelers and IMHO, they are fantastic. MIDI included.

Thanks peter,

are they the mk2's or mk3's? Will a mk2 be cool for what i need? Do i need anything else in the chain etc?

This is all practically brand new to me. All this midi/sync/clock business is the most shady part in my mind. Once i get over this i should be fine. All i need to know right now is what to buy.

Dean.

Frank, I did'nt realise that the audio wire card was a PCI!

Dean, looks like the traveller will serve your needs, for what you are going to do, you are just using a Motu to get sound in and out of D8b and Logic you won't be using it for anything else.
