D8b Boot Problem

Postby janbos » Mon Mar 26, 2012 4:19 pm

Hi everyone, new to this so I hope I am going about this in the right way!

My d8b goes through the boot sequence perfectly, looks like it has finished, all looks fine but nothing works. The screen looks ok but the mouse won't work and none of the controls on the desk do anything! after a few reboots (7 sometimes!) it all works again perfectly. I run a commercial studio so I am getting worried that it wont start at all soon.
Your thoughts would be gratefully appreciated.

Welcome Janbos.

First do a data cable re-seat both ends and a BFC re-seat.

I expect you get an error 43 message?

Hi thank you for your comments
I have tried both of those things and the odd thing is I never get any error messages. It appears to boot fine and even looks like it has booted ok but nothing works! I have tried formating and reinstalling v5.1 to no avail. After lots of reboots its fine so I struggling a bit as I can't find any references to anything like this.

I would be tempted reset all the ribbon cables on the brain board. If you take the bottom off your console the brain board (055-136-00) will be staring you in the face right in the middle of the unit. This sounds like it is a possible communication issue with the console and the CPU. It may help or not... but it is a free thing to give a shot.
