UFX card communication error

Postby OscarPro1 » Mon Sep 10, 2012 9:31 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the d8b forum but have been browsing through it a while now. Although not new to the industry, I'm new to the Mackie d8bs that console. If anyone could kindly help me troubleshoot an issue I have with the UFX card and plugins installed I will be grateful. The d8b generally works fine, but I've had a few issues since installing the UFX card. All plugins have been Authorised and service pack 3 is installed. On UFX plugin load I can insert any plugin on the first stereo pair or two mono outs on the plugin configuration page or by using the setup menu on the console. When I load a plugin on the second stereo pair or mono out on the UFX card I get an Error #74 communication failure with card.
I've reseated the UFX card and MFX card and also switched slots, but the same occurs. Can you please help get to the bottom of this.

Can you get each card to work without error one at a time?

Here is a thread about that error.

Just tried to run the UFX card on its own. Slots 9/10 load the plugins fine but slot 11/12 return the #74 communication failure message. The same applies when I try to load a stereo plugin in slot 11/12.

Still a dilemma Crash!

I am trying to get you to see if the card is the problem or maybe the physical slot in the console is the issue. Try moving it to slot A and see what happens there...just for a lack of anything else to try at the moment.

...and welcome to the forum by the way, sorry you are here due to an issue but hopefully one of us will get you sorted out.

Thanks Crash.
Hopefully I'll pick up where everyone thus far has left off.
I've shifted slots and isolated the card. Same issue just on the bottom slots on the plugin configuration page, no matter what physical slot I place the card in. You may be right...The issue points towards the card itself. Maybe worth looking at buying another UFX card...:(
