D8B Mod

Postby darker » Tue May 28, 2013 10:43 am

Strange one I know (on a budget thats tighter than a ....)

D8B with no Cpu/Psu but if I understand this correctly I could make a new power supply
in a rack case say 4u or something. Totally forget the CPU so the desk never sees audio again?
Rip out the old connection and replace with something else. Or put side by side.

I have spotted the schematics on here and believe this to be possible ???

Thankyou

Next question
Can anyone tell me what pins/ voltages I need
I assume 48v is only for phantom so I can miss out
That one? Also does the power split pre or post main psu? And what fuses are protecting the different voltages.
Any help would be very very very appreciated. Save me
Digging through schematics
Please help!!

Not to worry got most of it figured out. now to cram it into the smallest quietest box going. One last thing I can't find is the rating of the 3 fuses inside the power supply? Anyone??

Look at items 13-16 on page 2 of the build sheet.

another quick one sorry for my incompetence. Does anyone have a more detailed pin out/in diagram of the voltages required.
Schematics seem a bit vague with what where. Am i really the first to put my PSU/CPU-Less d8b through this stressful process?? If I can get this beast to fire I will be definitely getting D8Bridge but also sharing pictures/diagrams on here.
Ultra silent desk in "DAW" mode. A need for me due to lack of PC but must be appealing to others??

I have seen that but I'm a little confused. Sorry.
I have no pins on 1,2,8 and 17. I've read I can bin the
16v and 48v I only require 5v and 12v from a psu and switch mode supply does the psu supply only +12v to pin 23,24 and switch mode supply +5v to pin 4,8,913,14,15. What pin/pins is ground 1? I'm very use to AC being my job, but little out of my depth with DC any help would be greatly appreciated

Your photo is too large to make any sense of. Not sure I'd dump the +/- 16 Volt rails. They don't just handle audio. The pin legend on the left of the link I posted is pretty clear for J1.
