DELETING FILES

Is there a way to delete a file which is within a project.

I have a project that when opened contains three files. If I go to Project Manager only the project shows, and if I delete it then all the files within that project will be deleted.

By the way it's a HDR.

If you know which file it is, Phil... FTP connect to the HDR and remove the file from there...

You knew it was coming, so here it is:

So is it just a case of hooking up an ethernet cable from HDR to computer, in my case a MacPro?

Yup... use an FTP client, connect (PASSIVE mode) to the HDR and have at it... ;-)

Dok, if you mean by FTP Client I have to go on the internet, no can do with my MacPro and my pc is too far away

Joe, i've had my MacPro for over ten years, it's great but I only use it for Logic and VST instruments, I don't use it's effects, I route everything back into a d8b and add stuff from there.

All my gear runs via master word clock.

Phil... by FTP client I mean an application (an ftp client utility); something on this list would certainly knock this out:

I personally use FileZilla on Linux (Fedora 18), and it works wonderfully with accessing both the HDR and D8B over the wire...

Let me know how ya make out, Brutha... ;-)

As I mentioned, my Mac is not coupled to the internet, it might be possible to download the app to my pc then copy to cd to transfer to the Mac?

Oh, I see Phil... my Bad... :?

Yeah, that's exactly what I'd do... I don't know if there's an app natively installed on a Mac to use as an FTP Client, but that's all you'd be doing here... installing another application... ;-)

Actually, the only reason I need to delete files in the folder is this:- My external HD is on the brink, I want to recover as many files from it before it packs up for good. Some files transfer to the internal HD easily but this particular file has more than one in it and when I transfer it, it stops in the same place and that dredded clicking comes from the HD and the HDR freezes!
