HELP !! : Setting up Cubase 7 64Bitwith D8Bridge

Postby Klangarchitekten » Tue May 14, 2013 4:12 pm

Hey guys,

can someone please guide me thru the settings to get C7 64Bit running with D8Bridge.
Had it running with C5 and Midi Yoke.

Do I have to use LoopMidi now ?

Thx & Cheers,
Stan

Hello Stan,

Yes, indeed, you do have to use LoopMIDI. Windows 7 x64 is a bit weird on the MIDI side, ports that are created using a 32bit architecture is not visible to the x64 apps. On the even MORE stranger side, the MIDI stack of Windows 7 is 32bit only I beleive! Though, complicating things even more.

I'm taking notes for LoopMIDI are more and more people are taking the x64 route. I hope this helps.

Stan,

LoopBE30 is another software MIDI patchbay option for 64 bit DAWs. Please keep us posted on your integration progress with D8Bridge and Cubase 7.

All right guys,

I got it made. It works.
Now I can get back to work and do some Milliondollar Mixjobs.

Here some (Mix)-Notes for Marc:

1. Assigning Midi Ports in D8Bridge in "wrong order" with LoopMidi leads to crashes at least on my system.
2. D8Bridge loses the MIDI settings when started. I have to do the config EVERY time.
3. make D8Bridge Autostart & minimized -at least as option

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Stan

Numbers 1 and 2 should look very familiar to Marc from previous bug reports; same problems in Sonar X2 x64. Glad you're back in action!

Hey there,

just a couple of notes.

1. Using the 64Bit Version (d8bridge_x64.exe) doesn`t work on my system.
It opens up and I am able to configure. Clicking on "Test d8B LEDs" doesn`t do anything to my D8B. No LED-Show.
Firing up Cubase leads to no connectivity.

2. Putting D8Bridge in the Autostart Folder doesn`t work.
I guess loopMidi has to start first and needs more time than D8Bridge.
So D8Bridge doesn`recognize the Midiports.

Cheers,
Stan

d8bridge_x64.exe doesn't seem to work on anybody's system. I wish Marc would pull it from the v1.1 distribution and put up a prominent announcement here and on the BluAudio site to not use it.
