I'm quite excited about ProBox. My d8b has been in storage for years, refusing to stay locked to wordclock no matter what, even though it's been completely refurbished twice and in for repair numerous times.

I just can't let go of it.

My DAW of choice is Digital Performer on Mac/Mavericks. It supports MCU and MCU Pro and extensions, so all is good there.

I would love to install an internal power supply in the d8b so I don't have to deal with the anchor, but I don't have the expertise to do that. That's the only thing that would keep me from getting a ProBox. I just don't want to deal with the d8b's power supply.

Fantastic project. Congratulations on getting it done. Exciting stuff.

Well, hello old mate. Haven't seen you 'round these parts for a while. I trust all is wonderful, as it should be.

Cheers,

Peter

Great to see you, Peter. Like old times. Not that we're old or anything.

I hope you are doing great. Email me and let me know what's going on in your life.

I think this ProBox is a cool project. I like how it has moved along. It may get my d8b out of storage. Would very much like to use it as a controller.

If anyone is interested, I will release my java application next month, the software can:

-support dual d8b mixers, both in bridge mode with original cpu or standalone mode without psu (standalone mode can only control DAW),
so you can operate 48 channels at once,
-multiple layers,
-customizable buttons,
-using virtual midi - very simple to use,
-it will be FREE of charge.

Btw. I have some cards for d8b to sell:

3x Mackie AIO-8 Tape i/o 8 Channel Analog Expansion Card for D8B Mixer,
3x Mackie Apogee Digital I/O Card for D8B Mixer,
2x Mackie MFX Effects FX Card for D8B Mixer,
1x Mackie D8b Mixer Clock/Sync Card,
1x Mackie D8B Digital I/O AES/EBU/SPDIF/XLR Card.

Pulled out from a working unit. All of them are working and they are in mint condition. I don't need them anymore, and I would like not to sell them separately, so for the whole pack - 10 cards on photo, my price is 520$ + shipping fee.

Here are the photos:

I'm interested in the Java Application. I also have two (2) D8B's and want to use them as one large control surface. It would also be nice to be able to still route audio through one of the boards for session control.

Hi all

when the probox is ready to sell, everybody that wants one will get one.
I will announce that in this Forum here.
The most critical parts (ordering schedule) are the PCBs, but at least I can get them 2-3 weeks after ordering.
But I will try to make a stock of the PCBs to react fast.
It will be possible to produce one probox per day.

best regards
Munk
