Ableton Live Setup / Madness

Postby adamstarr » Sat May 09, 2020 2:38 am

Hi all -

I had this working at one time and now I'm stumped.

Currently able to recognize channels 9-16 and all other faders are locked to the down position and will not budge.

Ableton Live has the following options for control surfaces

Mackie Control
Mackie Control Classic
Mackie Control XT
Master Control (not sure if that is Mackie - I don't think so).

The current port options are

MCUPort
MCUPort (Port 2)
MCUPort (Port 3)
MCUPort (Port 4)

What is the specific setup instruction to integrate the probox D8B with Ableton Live?

Yes it's somewhat confusing sometimes.

So:
I currently have XT as 2, then XT as 3, and Mackie Control as 4
I would clear all of your ports then go back and order these.

Mackie XT - Port 2
Mackie XT - Port 3
Mackie - Port 4

I have all the ports as Inputs enabled tracking/sync/remote
The outputs all are as well except I dont have the plain MCU port enabled for output.

The important part I think is clearing out and then put the above in order in the surfaces.

Guys I have been at this a verrrrry long time.

I could really user some help with this - I would even pay to have a remote session to help get me sorted out. Please let me know if any of you are up for that.

D8B is powered up, and the following conditions exist

- no fader movement
- all faders including master are locked to 0
- channels 1-24 are reading meters, mutes and pans are functioning
- Master section (transport, etc) works properly
- Track data (name, pan) displays properly on the screen

Here are the settings in Ableton Live

MasterControl - MCUPort
MackieControl XT - Port 2
MackieControl XT - Port 3
MackieControl - Port 4

I have all the ports as Inputs enabled tracking/sync/remote
The outputs all are as well except I dont have the plain MCU port enabled for output.

I believe that I have gone through each possible setting and this is the closest I've gotten to working. The faders are all locked at 0 so I can't move them and I'm worried that I will burn up the fader motors continuing like this.

I would really really REALLY appreciate a clear path to setup on Ableton live 10

I am running Windows 10 64bit with the latest updates
