LED Spectrum Analysis added to my console's CPU

After completing my console's CPU facelift last month, I felt it was still lacking something 'modern', so I soldered together a couple LED arrays, diffused their light with some hi-tech material (masking tape) and ran an audio input into the rear. When I was done I had created a rather attractive (in my opinion) component that serves a new purpose while still providing the juice to my console.

You forgot about the will to do it, which I don't have after keeping all the other stuff working in the studio. How are you feeding the LED array out of curiosity?

Yes, I suppose the 'will' would be a required component. =)

The LED's arrays are 8x8 and are driven by a WD1088S chip which has several different display modes, adjustable refresh rates, and sensitivity controls. It's pretty cool and they sell for less than $8 US. I built the arrays with an audio pass-thru jack so they can be inserted in between my master out and my studio monitors. Their power (5V) comes directly from the CPU's floppy drive circuit.

Sorry, I don't see what purpose it serves. I have a spectrum analyzer in the d8b anyway and I want the cpu/ps as far away and out of sight as is possible. I'm sure you had fun. Nice paint job.

I do a lot of copy stuff, old Shadows tracks etc, Voxengo is one of the best SA's but my pc and Mac's OS won't load it, have I missed something as you say you have one in your d8b, is it in one of the plugins?

What's the meaning....:
For cosmetic use?
For pro use what does it tell you?
The psu is too noisy.
I've installed it under and way back from my mix place.
You can also install read , blue light in the studio , this will not tell you enything.
But cool thing to go for if.....
I like your design.... Nice paint job.
